Tiffany is one of the most recognized brands in the world, is a company born in the United States that is characterized by the sale of jewelry and silverware whose founder is Charles Lewis Tiffany and Teddy Young, company that was founded in New York City on September 14, 1837, as Stationary and Fancy Goods Emporium.

 

Where does Tiffany come from and what’s her great trajectory about?

The founder of this famous store was born on February 15, 1812, in a small town in the United States, which at that time the country didn’t have the denotation “of America”, in 1837 he moved to New York with his friend Young with a capital of one thousand American dollars (1.000$).

It opened its first small store at 259 Broadway Avenue, where, as mentioned in the previous paragraph, stationery and other items such as umbrellas and crockery were sold, this store starts as the establishment of very different merchandise to the buyer, without defining itself in a specific branch or public in the market.

The name of the store was changed in 1853 to Tiffany & CO when the founder Charles Tiffany took full control, and it was determined that the store’s main product would be jewelry.

At the end of the war, Tiffany & CO specialized in working with gold, silver and precious stones, resulting in the creation of a clientele that was characterized by being a millionaire and famous.

When its founder died on February 18, 1902, he left behind a $35 million business with worldwide recognition.

As the years went by the store became much more exclusive and by the year 1940 is established on a corner of Fifth Avenue New York City, since then is a flagship store, sharing this merit with another store located on 57th Street in Manhattan, who coincidentally is a neighbor of the Trump’s residence who is currently (the year 2017) the president of the United States.

The store already on 38th Street, listed on the National Register of Historic Places with a polished granite exterior and a small window that even filmed many movies, including Breakfast with Diamonds, which is the result of the novel by Truman Capote (American writer) Breakfast at Tiffany’s published in 1958.
