Zoisite: The stone that helps the body recover

The zoisite is known more as a mineral than a precious stone and the reason for this is because of its chemical components. This is why they place it with Silicates and within the type of epidotes, has many names and most are used in Spanish and Hispanic language, and these are: Illuderite, orthozosite, saualpite and also unionite, this depends mainly on the place where it is extracted.

This stone was first seen and described in 180, it was named in honor of the naturalist Sigmund Zois, this naturalist who was also considered a scholar in his area; he financed an expedition to collect more of this mineral, the reason for this was that he realized that it was a totally unknown mineral and to be able to study it thoroughly before anyone else could discover anything before him.

Then in 1967, a variety of this same mineral was found in blue color, something that was not expected, since the first deposit was the traditional one until now, it was the green color with ruby veins, and was found in Tanzania, due to the discovery was called at first Tanzanite, but after the completion of various studies; they realized that it was actually a Zoisite, but in a variety with a great purity contrary to the one originally discovered, in fact when it is cut it acquires a transparent and very bright tonality (very similar to the brilliance of the diamond) and with a slight blue tonality, almost we can say light blue.

It should be noted that there are many varieties of zoisites, among them the Thulita variety; it is the most commonly used as a gemstone, but it is not carved as most gemstones, on the contrary it is polished or treated in the same way as Pearls. That is to say that they are not modified only their beauty is highlighted and the aim is to make them look natural, not as if they were treated by human hands, the green Anyolitas will always be related to rubies (not the high-end but the mid-range), are widely used in handmade work and ornamental jewelry, in this variety of Zoisite is very common to see rubies in veins and distorted in the rock, this is one of the varieties considered colorful among the Zoisites.

This is a stone considered relatively new in the world of gems from only about two centuries and therefore its use is very limited and although the stone can be carved and shaped into a traditional gemstone, the vast majority of these are only used with a simple polish and are called semi-precious stones, many of these have deposits in Tanga (Tanzania), Ducktown (Tennessee); United States), Switzerland, India and Austria; these have been the places where these minerals are found to this day, it should always be noted that although some varieties are considered gems, the vast majority are considered minerals.

This stone is known or has the nickname of the Zoisite watermelon, they call it by its appearance of intense and bright green color with some cracks or black marks, many have a combination of green and red and that is why they acquire that name, as if they were a miniature fruit.

It is very much associated with the sign of Taurus and is considered a stone with the ability to transmute negative energy into positive, helps with the connection of all spiritual realms, activates the crown chakra (the chakra above the head that is the direct connection to the divinity), helps to activate a state of mind that facilitates learning in a spiritual way, helps with the manifestations of the “I” so as not to be influenced by the other or by the canons of society, helps the individual to realize himself as a person, to be productive and to change the destructive impulses that one has in constructive impulses.

Another thing is that it helps to release the feelings and emotions that are repressed so that they can be expressed freely and without pain or fear, it also functions as a kind of compass so that the wearer does not deviate from the objectives and things that really matter.

Helps the body recover from serious illnesses and daily stress and even post-traumatic stress, has a capacity to detoxify the body and reduce inflammations; Especially in pregnant women, it strengthens the immune system, heart and lungs, helps with infertility problems and ovarian diseases, together with Ruby its potency increases and helps with cleansing the soul and coming into contact with past lives.

If it is used as a pendant and must always have direct contact with the skin, the best option is to use it for long periods of time, so that it can function properly and can use its regenerating quality in its wearer, as it also helps against aging and prevent degenerative diseases and lack of energy or exhaustion in general.

The best way to keep this stone clean and fresh, is to wash it with a little salt water or with a little sea water, because it has a great hardness similar to that of quartz, but although it is the best option to keep it clean, to maintain its shine the best way is to use natural water and a little sap keeping it submerged for a few minutes and then rub it with a soft cloth. To be able to recharge the stone energetically it must be under a pyramid of paper made by its wearer or else under one made of wood, this must be done every time the wearer or owner removes the pendant especially after a long period with the post, this is the best option and it is preferable to do it after cleaning the gem with the above mentioned, this ritual should be done preferably at night.
